We’ve spent more time than we’d care to admit screaming and cursing at software (we’re looking at you Adobe). But with today’s release of the not-so-great pretty bad absolutely horrendous iTunes add-on Ping, it got us thinking. Apple has one hell of a track record when it comes to software, but that’s not to say there haven’t been some bumps along the way.

Last weekend I went to a cocktail party. It was a fun night as parties go, but it was extraordinary in another way. Largely because of the gentle disruption provoked by 17 little red decals, set in Helvetica and glued to our glasses. This was good design in action.

The lab is a place for the projects that used to go sight unseen. It’s not a collection of links that point somewhere else without any reflection. It’s an attempt to close the feed reader and let the brain meander with the purpose to get lost on our own little island.
